Hosted Workspaces calls an organization a team in buttons and settings. Create one from Your organizations on Home. The creator becomes its first admin. Self-hosted Workspaces has one organization set by the instance administrator. It does not offer New team or these hosted team settings.

Create the organization

1

Open the new team form

Sign in. From Home, find Your organizations and select New team.
2

Name the team

Enter Name, then select Create team.
3

Open the member list

Workspaces opens the team’s Members tab. You appear as an admin.
If you have not claimed a trial before, creating the team starts your one 14-day trial. Every later team you create uses the same end date. Organization workspaces start read-only if the deadline has passed.

Rename the organization

Open the team, select Settings, change Team name, then select Save. The team’s address does not change, so its current links keep working. If a rename fails, reload the team. If the names do not match, sign out and sign in again before retrying.

Delete the organization

Only an admin can delete a team.
1

Open team settings

Open the team and select Settings.
2

Confirm the team name

Under Delete team, enter the team name exactly.
3

Delete the team

Select Delete team. A successful delete removes the team and its workspaces, so new requests can no longer open them. Workspaces has no undo. Already-open pages and cached copies may remain.
Stored bytes may remain until cleanup. See Data retention and deletion.

Recover from a failed request

  • If creation fails, sign out and sign in again, then check Home > Your organizations. If the team appears, do not create it again. If it does not appear, retry once. Ask the instance operator for help if the error repeats.
  • If deletion fails, reload Home. Some workspaces may already be gone even if the team remains. If the team remains, open Settings and retry Delete team. Ask the instance operator for help if the error repeats.

Plans, trials, and seats
